STELLAR WORKS NEW KYOTO SHOWROOM AT HOUSE OF HOSOO

Stellar Works has teamed up with the Japanese textile company Hosoo to open a new showroom at HOUSE of HOSOO in Kyoto, Japan. The showroom celebrates a mutual sensibility for design and craftsmanship and presents a handpicked selection of Stellar Works products which are all upholstered in Hosoo fabric.

Designed by our long-standing Danish design partner OEO Studio, the Kyoto showroom pays tribute to the original Machiya architecture and traditional local crafts in the region. Situated in a 200-year-old townhouse, the showroom frames a traditional Japanese garden, with the original looms workshop placed towards the back. The wood detail evident in this style of vernacular housing runs throughout the spaces.

The Kyoto showroom exudes contemporary Asian design aesthetics. A colourful range of modernised Tatami mats harmoniously complements the curated selection of Stellar Works furniture including Laval chairs, Kyoto lamp, Seiton storage system and sophisticated textiles from Hosoo.
